September 2014: Designjunction

September is show time and once again we exhibited at the wonderful Designjunction. We launched our new 'Tile' collection featuring 5 new designs: Olé, Nessie, Hoof, Hombre and Tile available by the metre and as cushions. We also launched a beautiful screen/room divide made in collaboration with Baines and Fricker. Details for all these products are on the website.

June 2014: New cushion for Heal's AW14

One of the reasons we have been busy is Heal's. We were delighted to be asked to design an exclusive cushion for Heal's AW14 season. Our new design is called Hombre and it comes in 3 colourways on natural linen, 30cm x 50cm. We thought we'd share some images of the production process and soon I will add some images of the cushions themselves!

May 2014: Artists Fleamarket

We have been so busy the last few months and our dear blog has been neglected. Over the next few days I will be catching up, starting with May:

On the last weekend of May Theo and Vicky , along with Gary Simmonds, took part in the Artist Fleamarket at the Artist Village, Brockley. We  presented a selection of paintings and works on paper in an ad hoc way, stacking, leaning and pinning. This is the first time we have exhibited together and we used the space as an opportunity to start a light-hearted conversation between our works with a view to further projects.

April 2014: Adventures in waxing

It was a beautiful, sunny day in the 'Sham when Theo decided to try waxing some of our printed linen. His home made concoction of bees wax, linseed oil and turpentine smelled wonderful. It was a bit tricky to apply...you have to work fast and get it on evenly but it worked! The waxed items hung around airing and drying for a few weeks and are now in daily use.

March 2014: Crafts Council Hothouse programme 2014

We are delighted to be buddying one of this years Crafts Council Hothouse participants, Rosie Moss. As former Hothouse Alumni we know how useful it is to get advice and training on the business side of things and as buddies our role is to give her the benefit of our recent experiences and a friendly ear. We wish her lots of luck and look forward to getting to know her and her practice better.

In February we visited the wonderfully evocative Traces exhibition, which took the form of a 1930's Peckham department store. The exhibition featured a number of notable designers and artists one of whom was Polly Granville who used our Sounds Around fabric on two chairs.
